ABOUT COMQUEST

The Department Of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College For Women recognizes the
importance of enabling students to deal with the fast paced business world. Be it management skills, leadership skills or entrepreneurial skills– we endeavor to cultivate them all.
The most distinctive feature of this initiative of ours has been the conception of
COMQUEST, the Annual International Academic Meet which has now become one of the biggest Commerce oriented meets in Delhi University. A two day extravaganza to be held on 26th and 27th of September, 2019 would encompass a range of Commerce- oriented events, with the objective providing a forum for exchange of ideas among the brightest young minds and to foster innovation, encourage change, and discuss the latest developments in the ever buzzing corporate world.

It’s finally time to set your reminders, put up those post-its and mark your calenders!

Decide your parts, cross our hearts
Sharpen your wits, step up your game

Magnificent. Resplendent. Mind-boggling.

Days that seem like dreams, platforms that will capitalize your ideas and opportunities that will not knock your doors again.

ABOUT ESCALADE'19

BREAKING BOINDARIES

Boundary. Dividing line. Demarcation.

Separation. Division. Delimitation.
Say it any way you like, it doesn't make any difference. But all of these words, do make a difference. What? All of them lead to conflict.
Our differences tend to become lesser and lesser as we keep on examining a broader panorama. We have created these delimitations deliberately, which is now turning men against men.

With Comquest- ESCALADE'19: BREAKING BOUNDARIES, we  erase the differences for once and look beyond them. We cannot change the World in a two-day Meet but we surely can change the way in which we see it in a two-day Meet.

This Comquest, #colouroutsidethelines with us.

The Department of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College for Women September 26 and 27, 2019 We may not be able to change the world in a two-day Meet but we can change the way in which we see it in a two-day Meet. The Department of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, organised its Annual International Academic Meet Comquest- Escalade’19: Breaking Boundaries on September 26 and 27, 2019. Witnessing the air brimming with excitement, minds racing with ideas, and hearts beating with verve, Comquest offered a gamut of events, showcasing participation across geographic frontiers. To create the buzz for Comquest, the Commerce Department geared up in more ways than one! Through various competitions like the Tongue Twister, Poster Making, Hashtag Submission, it would not be wrong to say that the Publicity reached people far and wide. The Department also organised Pre Comquest events- Business Billionaro, Gully Girl, Bizlark, and Messiah for the students of LSR on September 19th and 20th . There was an open mic session organised on September 25th, highlighting the relevance of discussing “Abortion Rights- Pro Life, Pro Choice and Everything In Between” and inviting the students of LSR to fall into conversation through the Panel Discussion, which was scheduled for September 26, 2019. The Department flagged off its Meet with lightening of the lamp and a welcome note by the College Principal, Dr. Suman Sharma. The Panel Discussion, on Abortion Rights, was well-organised and an insightful conversation could be established with an extremely eminent Panel, which certainly proved to be an eye-opener for all and gave us much food for thought. The Panel included Ms. Geeta Luthra (Senior Advocate, the Supreme Court of India), Mr. Devendra Kumar Gupta (Founder and CEO of the Ladli Foundation Trust), Dr. RV Asokan (Secretary General, Indian Medical Association), Dr. Puneet Bedi (Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital), Ms. Haripriya Padmanabhan (Advocate, Supreme Court of India & Delhi High Court), Mr. Amit Sahni (Advocate, Delhi High Court) and Dr. Neema Sharma (Director, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Fortis Hospital), and was moderated by Ms. Sapna Kedia (Technical Specialist, International Centre for Research on Women). In the span of two days, with the relentless efforts of the Department faculty, Union and students, a riveting mix of events were organised- Market To Make It, Ignite (organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell), Finamics, Phoenix, Vanquisher, The Theory of Everything, Estrategia, and Mission Impossible (contingent event), exploring the categories of marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, business simulation, management, public relations and strategy, and a multidisciplinary framework, respectively, with an attempt to colour outside the lines, to erase the delimitations and to break the boundaries. Each event, designed and implemented diligently by the event core teams, holistically tested the participants, who had to go through the grind and winners emerged triumphantly after evaluation by notable and eminent judges. Comquest concluded with the Closing Ceremony, staging enthralling music and dance performances, followed by prize distribution and felicitation of young minds. Comquest summed up infinite learning and countless memories presented on a single platter, in a melting pot of creativity, intelligence and sharp wits.
